Emergency PreparednessIn any emergency situation, the safety of children is of the utmost importance. Montessori By The Sea complies with the state regulations which require that emergency procedures for fire, tornado, hurricane and/or chemical spills be in place and that all employees and students understand these procedures.  The school works closely with the city of St. Pete Beach police, fire and rescue personnel.  During a crisis situation, school personnel would follow St. Pete Beach emergency personnel’s instructions.  In case of medical emergencies, the school will call 911 first and your child will be transported by ambulance to the closest or designed medical facility.  Parents will be contacted immediately following the call to 911.  Minor accidents will be promptly treated by a staff member and the parents notified either by phone or through a copy of the accident report form.

Emergency School Closings
The decision to close Montessori By The Sea is made at the discretion of the School Director, Ms. Judi Dunlap. In most instances, if Pinellas County Schools are closed for emergency reasons, Montessori By The Sea will also be closed.  If you are uncertain, please check the school’s answering machine for a message informing parents of any closing.  If the school is in session at the time of closing, the Parents and/or Guardian will be notified by phone.
