Extended beyond the groundwork Montessori by the Sea lays in the Lower Elementary program, Upper Elementary students learn to become more independent, take on new responsibilities, and think more abstractly while exploring complex lessons.  They learn to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, while acquiring 

leadership skills. Students develop essential time management abilities for independent work and also learn how to work well with others. The curriculum scope for the Upper Elementary classroom moves students from the concrete to conceptual thinking in mathematics, geometry, language arts, zoology, botany, geography, history, and the arts.  Technology is added to provide new pathways for extended learning and for making cross-curricular connections.
